Hi. I’m Candace. And I come from studies music in Hi Fi, which is a 37 year old music and hifi shop that my mom opened. And he’s a Turtle Bay, he plays keyboard and dad now work there, and they were in a band together. So it’s really passionate. It’s where I grew up sleeping in the bass drums. And I mean, he’s imagining me, so I’m taking over from when my dad and tires this year.

Such a great story. And apple doesn’t fall far from the tree looking very badly today. Tell me this is such a great story. Like it’s change, you know, changing, the guards are passing down, you know, it’s really I’d imagine as a as a mother proud moment for your parents that you have the desire to take on this wonderful business. Now it’s fine to your breathing such new energy and life into this gorgeous 37 year old journey that the business has had. What was it about this program that inspired and motivated you to apply.

the literacy around how to use something as like, magic, as the internet, if it’s used correctly, is really appealing. And the fact that there are resources around you that help you and guide you and give you those tools to be able to use that to really like it’s it’s endless. The possibilities that the internet can give you a business is endless. But it’s really daunting to be like, where do I start? How do I start and not get scammed or whatever XYZ is. So having reputable program like this is just priceless.

And I love like you’ve already you’re such an action taker, you’ve already implemented things from your digital engagement health check, tell me about that experience of having an assessment done on all of your digital assets and then working one on one together today. Honestly,
Candice Stothers 2:03
the the health check was both terrifying and a really rewarding because on the one hand, it’s great to see just having an objective score of it. And the other part is like, wow, there’s a lot of options that you can do with this. So what I’ve found has been the best is picking out what is doable and manageable for that little bit and getting set like getting the ball rolling, and then working one on one with you has been amazing because it’s no longer as daunting as I thought it was. And now that I’ve gotten the ball rolling, it can really start travelling down the

hill. I am so excited to you, I’ll be watching it with writing. fangirl here. So when you when you think about other businesses within the community, and not just for this programme, but other programmes, what would your personal advice be to them, they also have a lot of in place. And and feeling can be overwhelmed.
Candice Stothers 3:04
Yeah, I’m getting into it. On the one hand, like, I’ve done a bit of just grabbing it any free resources that I can that have been put out by our Shire. And it’s been amazing. Because not only do you get incredible resources, and doesn’t take up as much time as you need it. Also, you don’t know if it’s lets you know what they’re talking about. Okay, take what you need, leave what you don’t. But the other part is, is that you get to meet other business owners that are on the same journey as well. And then you get to bounce back and be like, did you find that like, really scary or do you like yada yada yada being involved in the community of wanting to grow, and then all fighting the resources is, like, so good. And you really just bounce off each other and just add that extra support to each other in a way that if like, it’s also just getting into it?

Because sometimes you can feel like you are a lottery like being in in business. And even though it’s a family business, I mean, you’re taking on a different responsibility, but and also finding your people. Yeah, and like minded people taking these opportunities and also grow your network. So I’d love that. Yeah, shared that.
Candice Stothers 4:11
And just because like it’s a family business, doesn’t mean that it’s like whoever else is opening their businesses, it doesn’t mean it’s stupidly huge about to them as well. So there is that common factor regardless of what the story behind the business or how long it’s been there is it’s still everybody’s baby.
Despina Karatzias 4:28
Oh, so. Well, I’m glad you signed up. I’m glad that we’ve had this opportunity to meet and roll up our sleeves and talk about how we’re going to make this work for you where you’re at in your journey right now. For the next six to 12 months. Yeah and beyond. I’m I’m excited for you and I wish you every success. Thank you so much. Thank you wonderful.
